BUTUAN CITY – The Department of Trade and Industry in Dinagat Islands (DTI-Dinagat) turned over a PHP2.5 million Mobile Mariculture Platform to Cagdianao municipality on Wednesday, aimed at supporting local lobster production for fisherfolk.
The platform was released through DTI’s Shared Service Facility (SSF) program and will primarily benefit the area’s Dabus Fisherfolk Association.
“The SSF project released to the association features two platforms with four modules each,” noted that each module can accommodate around 120 juvenile lobsters for production.
The project turnover was overseen by local leadership and aims to provide more opportunities for livelihood among fisherfolk in Dinagat.
