KrasnodarA resident of Krasnodar handed over more than 14 million rubles to scammers.

A 32-year-old local resident contacted the police of the regional center. According to him, he was called on one of the messengers and informed that he was suspected of sponsoring extremist organizations; they showed him a correspondence that he allegedly had with criminals. Then the man was contacted by fake FSB employees. They convinced the victim to transfer all his savings to a “safe” account.

The man then sold his car, withdrew money from various accounts, and borrowed from relatives. In total, he managed to collect more than 14 million rubles. He gave this money to three couriers after a code word was named, and deposited the remaining part in small amounts through ATMs in different parts of the city.

The Krasnodar police reminded that official representatives of government agencies never demand money transfers.
