Fishermen Catch a Two-Meter Catfish Weighing as Much as an Average Woman in Dinskoy District

A two-meter catfish weighing as much as an average woman was caught by fishermen in the Dinsk district

A resident of Krasnodar caught a 54-kilogram giant catfish in the Stavok River while fishing with friends in the Plastunovskaya village.

The man came to the reservoir to relax and planned to catch carp, but a river giant took the bait. He reported the unusual catch to the manager of the base.

“He called and says: ‘Do you have a scale? I caught a fish taller than me’. I remember the man was about 180 cm tall, I thought he was joking. Then we all weighed the catfish together, took photos,” the manager recounts.

The local reservoir is home to dozens of fish species: white and black Amur carp, carp, perch, pike-perch, and bighead carp. Over the last month, two large catfishes were caught here—the first weighed 39 kg, which the fisherman kept for himself.
