How to Get Through the Rainy Season Safely? Experts Share Tips

As the damp rainy season arrives, how can we protect the health of the public? On June 10, a traditional Chinese medicine expert suggested that the public can use electric fans, air conditioning to promote air circulation, use dehumidifiers, place hanging herbal sachets, and eat some food that has the effects of removing dampness and strengthening the spleen to guard their health. A respiratory expert also provided tips for maintaining the respiratory health of children.

The “Shanghai Health Broadcast” health tips were launched, hosted by various health commissions and traditional medicine administrations, featuring the head physician of traditional medicine from Shuguang Hospital affiliated with Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, to help the public through the rainy season.

The expert stated that traditional Chinese medicine believes that “wind can overcome dampness,” meaning that ventilation can help remove dampness. She suggested that if possible, purchase a dehumidifier or place desiccants in corners of the room.
