Shanghai Opens New Technology Park for Elderly Care

On June 10th, the Shanghai Elderly Care Technology Industrial Park officially opened in Minhang District’s Dawling Bay.

Shanghai is one of the earliest cities in China to enter an aging population phase and has the deepest degree of aging. By the end of 2024, the population of registered elderly people aged 60 and above in Shanghai reached 5.7762 million, accounting for 37.6% of the total registered population.

On June 10th, the official opening ceremony of the Shanghai Elderly Care Technology Industrial Park was held, pictured is the exhibition hall.

Elderly care technology has garnered significant attention. The Shanghai Elderly Care Technology Industrial Park covers a total planned area of about 1.3 square kilometers and is divided into two main functional areas: the innovation research and development area and the industrial bearing area. After nearly a year of preliminary construction, the park has now introduced more than 40 elderly care technology innovation enterprises, built a public service platform for research and development testing
