On June 18th, the higher education professional evaluation agency “Soft Science” officially released the “2025 Soft Science Chinese University Professional Ranking,” which includes 836 specialties across 93 specialty categories and 12 major categories.
The ranking results show that Peking University ranks first nationally with 94 A+ specialties, Tsinghua University is second with 56 A+ specialties, and Harbin Institute of Technology ranks third with 49 A+ specialties.
In the 2025 Soft Science Chinese University Professional Ranking, Shanghai has 37 universities with 1272 specialties listed. Among them, there are 236 A+ specialties, 293 A specialties, 496 B+ specialties, and 247 B specialties. Shanghai ranks second nationally in the number of top-tier (A+) specialties.
