Sho Nakata of the Dragons has decided to end his 18-year professional career.

“My body no longer moves as I want it to, and I cannot burden the team any further. That’s why I’ve made the decision to retire.”
Nakata, a key player for the Dragons, joined the team in 2024 after stints with the Fighters and the Giants, seeking more playing opportunities.
Known for his dedication to fans, Nakata showed his warm personality during this year’s training camp…
He practiced alongside fans, displaying his genuine character.
Despite careful preparation, his chronic back pain recurred, preventing him from performing as desired and leading to his retirement announcement at the end of this season.
