On June 9, President Xi Jinping and Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili exchanged congratulatory messages to celebrate the 34th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Xi Jinping noted that over the past 34 years, China and Georgia have always upheld the principles of mutual respect, mutual trust, and win-win cooperation, promoting the healthy and stable development of bilateral relations and achieving fruitful results in various fields. Since the establishment of a strategic partnership between China and Georgia in 2023, political mutual trust has become stronger, practical cooperation has accelerated, and multilateral coordination has become more effective.

Zourabichvili stated that looking back over the past 30 years, Georgia and China have established a long-standing friendship, with bilateral relations achieving remarkable results based on mutual respect, mutual trust, and constructive cooperation. On the occasion of the 34th anniversary of diplomatic relations, they jointly decided to elevate Georgia-China relations to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership. She believed this will create more opportunities for cooperation between the two countries, bring greater benefits to both sides, and further strengthen the bonds of friendship between the peoples of the two countries.
