The Chairman of the DPRD DKI Jakarta, Suhud Alynudin, affirmed his commitment to continuing the various positive achievements that have been built while strengthening synergy with the DKI Provincial Government in carrying out development and improving community welfare.

“There is no reduction,”

Suhud stated that the DKI DPRD will optimize the three main functions of the legislative body, namely the formation of regional regulations, oversight, and budgeting.

In the field of legislation, the DPRD will encourage the creation of various regional regulations that can accelerate development while addressing the needs of Jakarta residents.

“A number of regional regulations produced are greatly needed by Jakarta residents and also by the executive in carrying out its functions and implementing development in Jakarta,” said Suhud.

In terms of oversight, the DKI DPRD continues to monitor the policies of the DKI Provincial Government. Various inputs and criticisms submitted by council members are expected to be part of joint efforts to improve the quality of public services and development.

“Well, that is the collaboration we mean. That means the main duties and functions of the council are running,” said Suhud.

Meanwhile, from the budgeting side, Suhud emphasized that his side ensures that programs directly related to community welfare remain a priority. Programs such as the Jakarta Smart Card, Jakarta Excellent Student Card, food subsidies, and flood control programs must continue even though the DKI Provincial Government is implementing budget efficiency.

According to him, efficiency measures should not touch the budget that directly impacts the needs and welfare of residents.

“We want to ensure there is no cutting or reduction of the budget related to community welfare,” he asserted.

Suhud is optimistic that the synergy between the DPRD and the DKI Provincial Government will grow stronger. He mentioned that good communication with the Governor of DKI Jakarta is an important asset for conveying input and evaluations regarding the implementation of development.

Furthermore, Suhud also encouraged the DKI Provincial Government to develop creative financing schemes so that Jakarta does not only rely on conventional funding sources. According to him, there is still much potential for funding that can be developed through cooperation with various parties.

He hopes that this step can strengthen the regional fiscal capacity so that Jakarta’s development continues optimally without reducing programs that touch the basic needs of the community.

“There is still a lot of funding potential that can be developed through cooperation with various parties. This needs to be encouraged to become a new source of income for Jakarta,” he concluded.
