On June 7 at 7:00 AM, at the convenience service point of Beijing No. 14 Middle School, the tram branch of Beijing Public Transport Group set up a “college entrance exam support vehicle” to provide a comfortable temporary resting space for parents accompanying their children to the exam.
At the Beijing No. 14 Middle School service point, two red buses were parked side by side, with a warm blessing banner hanging on the vehicles reading, “You just ride the wind and waves; we will ensure your support.” In front of the buses, the “Tram Blue” youth volunteer service team set up a “Warm-hearted College Entrance Exam Service Station,” preparing exam supplies, heatstroke prevention items, drinking water, etc., to provide thoughtful services for students and parents.
“After sending the child into the exam hall, we parents don’t have to wait in the scorching sun; we can rest comfortably in the service vehicle. The public transport service is so heartwarming,” said a parent accompanying the exam.
During the exam period, in addition to the Beijing No. 14 Middle School exam site, the tram branch also set up volunteer service points at the Beijing No. 50 Middle School exam site. The tram branch’s operations department formulated a plan to ensure transportation capacity during the exam, dynamically adding vehicles on routes passing by exam sites from half an hour to two hours before the exam starts, ensuring sufficient capacity during peak travel times for students. Volunteers stationed at bus stops near exam sites reminded drivers to accelerate gently and drive quietly to create a good exam environment.
During the exam period, the No. 2 branch of Beijing Public Transport Group set up dedicated college entrance exam support service stations around 14 exam sites across the city. Each station was equipped with special exam support packages, distributed free of charge to students. The packages contained exam supplies such as 2B pencils, gel pens, erasers, and also included heat-relief items like cooling oil, tissues, and band-aids.
Additionally, the No. 2 branch specially customized cultural fans printed with the words “Success in Every Exam,” distributed free of charge to waiting parents to convey good wishes. Volunteers were on duty throughout the process, providing route inquiries, order guidance at stops, and emergency assistance services.
In terms of driving support, the No. 2 branch required all buses passing through exam site areas to refrain from honking, turn off external speakers for stop announcements and turning signals, and drive quietly and smoothly to minimize noise interference with the exams.
A representative from Beijing Public Transport Group stated that during the exam period, flexible scheduling measures were implemented for routes passing by 120 exam sites across the city, with a focus on increasing temporary capacity during student entry and exit times. Some bus routes passing by exam sites were instructed to skip stops as required. Real-time monitoring of routes near exam sites was conducted, with staff on-site to handle any temporary situations promptly, ensuring smooth operation of all affected routes.
