Security authorities in the Kingdom have intensified efforts to combat the criminal promotion of drugs, successfully intercepting smuggled narcotics in various regions.
Border guard patrols in the Da’ir sector of Jazan region arrested eight individuals—of Yemeni and Ethiopian nationality—for violating border security regulations by smuggling 200 kg of narcotic khat. Initial legal procedures were completed, and the suspects along with the seized items were handed over to the relevant authorities.
In another operation, border guard patrols in the Rabu’ah sector of Asir region arrested nine Yemeni nationals for smuggling 216 kg of narcotic khat. Initial legal measures were taken, and the suspects and confiscated items were transferred to the appropriate authorities.

Security agencies urge citizens and residents to report any information related to drug smuggling or promotion. Reports can be made by calling 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, or 999 and 994 in other regions of the Kingdom. The General Directorate for Drug Control can also be contacted at 995 or via email at 995@gdnc.gov.sa. All reports will be handled with strict confidentiality, and informants will bear no responsibility.
