TANGERANG – A mango wholesaler died from electrocution while up in a tree. The wholesaler from Sukaraja, Tangerang Regency, lost his life while picking mangoes on Jalan Halim Perdana Kusuma, Batuceper District, Tangerang City, on Wednesday afternoon.

The tragic incident befell a man named Dedi. This event caused a stir among the local community.

The Deputy Chief of the Tangerang City Metro Police said that the victim, who came from Tangerang Regency, was a mango wholesaler.

“We are concerned. Today at the Batuceper Police sector, there was an accident where a mango wholesaler was taking mangoes from a tree using a bamboo pole,” he said.

At that time, according to him, the victim was using a long bamboo pole to pick mangoes at the location. Then, the bamboo pole touched a high-voltage electrical cable. As a result, the victim was electrocuted and subsequently died.

“The person in question died while up in the tree,” he explained.

The victim was immediately evacuated by a joint team from the state electricity company, the regional disaster management agency, and the police. His body has been taken to the Tangerang Regional General Hospital.

Regarding this incident, he urged the public to immediately report to the relevant authorities if they see trees near electrical poles or cables.
