SPMB SMP Negeri Tangsel 2026

The local government of South Tangerang City has officially opened the New Student Admission System for public junior high schools for the 2026/2027 academic year.

In this year’s selection, the city government has provided a capacity of 9,976 student quotas, distributed across various public junior high schools in the area.

Complete information regarding the implementation of the admission system can be accessed through the website https://spmb.tangerangselatankota.go.id.

The Deputy Mayor of South Tangerang emphasized that the entire admission process must be transparent and capable of providing broad access to education for the community.

“God willing, the stages of this admission will begin registration in June. Parents will then just need to submit documents and follow the ongoing process. I ask for transparency, and regarding the quota, God willing, we have nearly 10,000 students accommodated in public junior high schools,” he said after visiting the new school building of SDN Babakan 01, Setu District, on Thursday, June 4, 2026.

According to the Deputy Mayor, each year there are approximately 25,000 elementary school graduates in South Tangerang City who continue their education to junior high school. Of that number, an average of 12,000 to 15,000 students choose to apply to public schools.

Therefore, the city government continues to increase educational service capacity by building new public junior high schools while also strengthening collaboration with private schools.

“We are also cooperating with nearly 100 private junior high schools in South Tangerang. Later, we will prepare 5,000 scholarships for students who are not accepted into public schools and must enter private schools so that their education costs are free,” he explained.

The Deputy Mayor stated that efforts to expand access to education have also become part of the city’s Regional Medium-Term Development Plan.

“Meanwhile, scholarships are provided to enter private junior high schools while we build public junior high schools every year. In the city’s Regional Medium-Term Development Plan, over five years there will be the construction of seven public and private junior high schools. While that is ongoing, we continue to cooperate with private schools,” he said.

For this year’s admission process, registration for public junior high schools is conducted online, including for applicants from outside the region, graduates of equivalent Package A programs, and graduates from previous years.

Prospective students who encounter difficulties during the registration process can come directly to the intended public junior high school to receive assistance from the school committee.

Prospective public junior high school students must have graduated from elementary school, open elementary school, Islamic elementary school, Package A, or other equivalent forms, and be at most 15 years old as of July 1, 2026.

Specifically for graduates from previous years, they must attach a diploma that has been legalized by the original school.

Additionally, prospective students who have academic or non-academic achievements, Qur’an memorization skills, or are members of the Garuda Scout group can apply through the achievement track by attaching the required supporting documents.

The public junior high school admission system opens four admission tracks: the Domicile Track (40 percent), the Achievement Track (25 percent), the Affirmation Track (30 percent), and the Transfer Track (5 percent).

For administrative requirements, prospective students must attach a birth certificate, Child Identity Card, Family Card, and a Certificate of Graduation or a certificate of completion of the entire learning program from the original school.

Specifically for the Domicile Track, the Family Card must have been registered with the Population and Civil Registration Office for at least one year or recorded no later than June 1, 2025.

The implementation of the South Tangerang Public Junior High School Admission System for 2026 is divided into three stages. The first stage for the Domicile Track takes place from June 22 to June 24, 2026. The selection results are announced on June 26, 2026, and re-registration is carried out on June 27, 2026.

The second stage for the Achievement and Transfer Tracks opens from June 29 to July 1, 2026. The announcement of selection results is made on July 4, 2026, and re-registration on July 6, 2026.

Meanwhile, the third stage for the Affirmation and Disability Tracks takes place from July 6
