On June 3, a meeting was held to convey and study the important directives on promoting the high-quality development of philosophy and social sciences, as well as directives on responding to a coal mine gas explosion accident in Qinyuan County, Changzhi City, Shanxi Province. The meeting also studied directives on advancing the comprehensive rule of law and the spirit of the Central Conference on Comprehensive Rule of Law, along with relevant provincial and municipal conference spirits, and discussed implementation opinions. The meeting was chaired.
The meeting emphasized the need to raise political awareness, deepen the systematic and theoretical research and interpretation of the Party’s innovative theories, and fully understand the significance of promoting high-quality development in philosophy and social sciences. It stressed the importance of basing work on the actual development of the district, deeply exploring urban cultural heritage such as the spirit of reform and opening up and the pioneering spirit, accelerating the construction of the “Luohu Bridge” Museum and the “Guangdong-Hong Kong Water Supply” Exhibition Hall, and expanding philosophy and social sciences in practice. It also called for improving the “grand social sciences” work structure, establishing a work system with unified Party leadership, coordination by the propaganda department, collaborative efforts from functional units, professional support from think tanks, and broad participation from social forces, to promote high-quality development of philosophy and social sciences in Luohu.
The meeting emphasized adhering to the principles of putting people and life first, resolutely abandoning complacency,侥幸心理, and slack attitudes, and maintaining the highest standards to ensure safety. It called for focusing on key areas, strengthening regulatory responsibilities, enhancing safety supervision of construction sites, conducting comprehensive and地毯式 safety hazard inspections and rectifications, implementing heatstroke prevention measures, and ensuring protection for outdoor operations. It also stressed the need to strengthen defensive thinking, consolidate flood control responsibilities, strictly implement the “pre-rain inspection, mid-rain patrol, post-rain review” work mechanism, and resolutely win the battle against flood control during the dragon boat water period.
The meeting emphasized the importance of understanding the significance of building a pioneering demonstration area for the rule of law, placing the rule of law in a全局性, strategic, and foundational position, and truly grasping that the rule of law is the best business environment and the key to stimulating market vitality in Luohu. It called for focusing on key tasks, adhering to a problem-oriented approach, targeting weak links, promoting overall improvement of the district’s rule of law construction, and advancing the construction of a pioneering demonstration area for the rule of law with greater efforts. It also stressed the need to strengthen responsibility, enhance the construction of specialized rule of law teams, tell the story of rule of law in Luohu, smooth channels for public participation, and gather strong synergy for building a pioneering demonstration area for the rule of law.
