Ram Charan’s ‘Peddi’ has surpassed 7 films worldwide at the box office upon its release, including major films like ‘Dhurandhar’ and ‘Jawan’.

The sports drama film, which hit theaters on June 4, has earned a stunning global opening of 135 crore. With this earning, Peddi has surpassed 7 of the biggest record-breaking films. See the list of those seven films below:

Pathaan

Among the films whose record Peddi has broken worldwide, Shah Rukh Khan’s 2023 blockbuster ‘Pathaan’ comes first. While Ram Charan’s ‘Peddi’ earned 135 crore on its first day, Pathaan had a global opening of 104.19 crore.

Gadar 2

Sunny Deol’s 2023 film ‘Gadar 2’ was also on Peddi’s radar. This film, which marked Sunny Deol’s return with a sequel to his blockbuster after many years, earned about 53.32 crore worldwide, a record easily broken by Ram Charan’s film.

Jawan

Peddi has broken the record of not one but two major Shah Rukh Khan films. Besides Pathaan, it has also surpassed ‘Jawan’. Jawan earned 129.06 crore worldwide on its first day. By earning 6 crore more, Peddi has broken this record as well.

Animal

Ram Charan’s pan-India release ‘Peddi’ also targeted Bobby Deol and Ranbir Kapoor’s blockbuster ‘Animal’. Animal had a worldwide opening of 116 crore, which the sports drama film easily surpassed.

Dhurandhar

Although Ram Charan’s sports drama film may not have succeeded in breaking the record of Ranveer Singh’s spy thriller ‘Dhurandhar’, it has already broken the record of its first part. Dhurandhar earned 41.35 crore worldwide on its first day, which Peddi has far exceeded.

The Raja Saab

Among the major films whose first-day records Peddi has broken is Prabhas’s super-flop film ‘The Raja Saab’, released in January this year. Peddi has far surpassed this film, as The Raja Saab’s worldwide collection was 54.15 crore.

Although Ram Charan’s Peddi may be inspired by Sultan, it hasn’t held back from breaking the record of another Salman Khan film. This film has also surpassed last year’s film ‘Sikandar’ starring Rashmika Mandanna and Salman Khan. Sikandar did a business of 41.20 crore worldwide.

Pathaan

Pathaan is a city in the Indian state of Rajasthan, historically known as a princely state. It was founded in the 13th century and served as the capital of the Pathan dynasty, featuring a rich heritage of forts, palaces, and stepwells that reflect its Rajput and Mughal architectural influences. Today, it is a popular tourist destination known for its well-preserved historical sites and vibrant culture.

Gadar 2

“Gadar 2” is not a place or cultural site, but rather a 2023 Indian Hindi-language action drama film directed by Anil Sharma. It is the sequel to the 2001 blockbuster “Gadar: Ek Prem Katha,” which was set against the backdrop of the Partition of India in 1947. The film continues the story of Tara Singh (played by Sunny Deol), a Sikh man who crosses borders to rescue his family and fight for justice.

Jawan

Jawan is a historical village located in the Negev desert in southern Israel, known for its ancient burial structures and archaeological significance. The site features prominent stone mounds, or tumuli, dating back to the 6th–5th centuries BCE, which have been linked to Nabatean or earlier nomadic cultures. Its name is derived from the Hebrew word for “Greece,” possibly reflecting historical connections or influences in the region.

Animal

“Animal” is not a specific place or cultural site, but rather a general term for living organisms. However, if you are referring to the famous “Animal” sculpture or monument, such as the “Animal” statues in various zoos or the “Animal” themed parks, please provide more context for a precise summary. In a broader sense, animals have been central to human culture and history, appearing in ancient cave paintings, myths, and religious symbolism across civilizations.

Dhurandhar

Dhurandhar is a scenic waterfall located on the Narmada River in Madhya Pradesh, India, near the historic town of Mandu. According to local legend, it is named after the sage Dhurandhar, who is said to have meditated here, and the site has long been a place of spiritual and natural significance. The waterfall is particularly famous for its powerful cascade during the monsoon season, drawing visitors for its beauty and tranquil surroundings.

The Raja Saab

“The Raja Saab” is a colloquial and respectful title used in parts of South Asia, particularly in India and Pakistan, to refer to a king or a high-ranking nobleman. Historically, it was used for local rulers during the British Raj, who governed princely states and held significant authority over their territories. Today, the term is often used in cultural contexts, such as in films or literature, to evoke a sense of regal heritage and tradition.

Sikandar

Sikandar, a term often associated with the Mughal emperor Sikandar Lodi (reigned 1489–1517), refers to his tomb located in Delhi, India, which is a fine example of Lodi-era architecture. This tomb, situated within the Lodi Gardens, was built by his son Ibrahim Lodi and showcases an octagonal design with intricate stonework and a central dome. The site is historically significant as it marks the final resting place of the second ruler of the Lodi dynasty, the last dynasty of the Delhi Sultanate before the Mughal conquest.
