The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) started a large-scale sealing drive on Friday against unauthorized commercial establishments in the popular South Delhi areas of Hauz Khas Village and Saidulajab. Action was taken against a building, and MCD staff placed a lock on it.
With a heavy security force deployed, MCD teams began sealing shops, restaurants, and other commercial properties operating without permission. This action is part of a strict campaign against unauthorized constructions and illegal commercial activities in residential areas.
Local traders have expressed concern over this drive, while the administration says it is necessary to enforce building bylaws and ensure public safety. The sealing drive is likely to continue in other commercial areas of South Delhi as well.
