Focus on Cleanliness Campaign, 12 Years of Good Governance, and School Enrollment Festival Preparations; Pre-Monsoon Disaster Management Arrangements Also Reviewed
To review the progress of various welfare campaigns and programs of the state government, the in-charge secretary of Vadodara, P. Swaroop, held a meeting with officials at the collector’s office on Thursday. The meeting included detailed discussions and necessary directions on the cleanliness campaign, events organized to mark the completion of 12 years of good governance under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, and preparations for the school enrollment festival.
During the meeting, Collector Dr. Anil Dhamelia informed that under the 12-year good governance campaign of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, various community participation-based programs are being organized in the district. These include a tree planting and tree protection campaign, a cleanliness campaign running until June 14, a progress path journey, an enlightened citizens’ conference, an exhibition, public welfare camps, a developed India pledge conference, a natural farming workshop, and events related to the International Day of Yoga.
In-charge Secretary P. Swaroop instructed officials to conduct a large-scale cleanliness campaign in Vadodara city and district. Special emphasis should be placed on removing accumulated garbage and plastic waste along roadsides to prevent waterlogging during the upcoming monsoon season. He also asked to ensure effective action to remove garbage and plastic waste from rural areas.
During the meeting, P. Swaroop also reviewed disaster management preparations in view of the upcoming monsoon. He gathered information on the availability of resources, coordination with NDRF and SDRF, arrangements for control rooms at the taluka level, and alert system preparations in villages located along riverbanks.
Additionally, he reviewed preparations for the school enrollment festival, Anganwadi enrollment festival, and other important programs including the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference, providing necessary guidance to officials. The meeting was attended by District Development Officer Anand Patil, Resident Additional Collector B.S. Patel, Deputy Forest Conservator, and senior officials from various departments.
