New Delhi, The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) stated that by Wednesday morning, approximately 44,000 students had availed the verification and re-evaluation facility and successfully completed the application process without any issues.
The board said that a total of 43,980 applications were received for verification and re-evaluation of answer scripts on the online portal. In a post on ‘X’, the board said, ‘4,924 applications for verification and 39,056 applications for re-evaluation were accepted on the portal. A total of 43,980 applications were received by 12 noon today.’ The board informed that payments for verification and re-evaluation can be made through the portal via State Bank of India (SBI), Canara Bank, Bank of Baroda, and Indian Bank. Students are not required to have an account in these banks to make payments.
CBSE said, ‘Students do not need to hold an account in these banks, but they can use any of these payment methods to pay.’ The board added, ‘By 9:30 am today, 40 thousand students had availed this facility and completed the verification and re-evaluation process without any trouble.’ According to the board, candidates can use online payment facilities such as UPI, net banking, credit cards, and debit cards through the designated payment method.
Student concerns over OSM system and portal issues
CBSE said, ‘For correct information, rely only on CBSE’s official notifications.’ The portal was launched late. Earlier, CBSE had said that the application process for verification and re-evaluation of answer scripts was likely to start by May 29. Earlier, some students and parents had expressed concern over the on-screen marking (OSM) system adopted by CBSE.
During the verification and re-evaluation process, students and parents criticized the board over technical glitches, payment failures, and issues accessing the portal. On Tuesday, CBSE launched the online portal for students dissatisfied with the evaluation of Class 12 board exams, to verify errors found in scanned copies of answer scripts and for re-evaluation of answers. According to the board, this facility is only available to students who have received scanned copies of their answer scripts.
Re-evaluation service continued amid 15 lakh hits
CBSE said, ‘The portal for applying for verification of issues observed in the provided scanned copy of the answer script and for re-evaluation of answers was launched on June 2, 2026. If there is any problem in the provided scanned copy of the answer script, students can avail the facility of its verification and, if not satisfied with the evaluation, re-evaluation of answers.’ The portal will remain open until June 6 (midnight), and no offline applications or requests will be accepted after the deadline.
Students must log in using their Aadhaar number through the CBSE website and submit the online application. The board said that the entire process, including fee payment, will be conducted digitally. On Tuesday, CBSE said that ‘malicious elements’ attempted to disrupt services on its re-evaluation portal through a series of cyber attacks, including one that caused 15 lakh ‘hits’ on the platform within two minutes and over one lakh attempts to gain unauthorized access to files.
