Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, President of the People’s Republic of China, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, recently issued important instructions on promoting high-quality development of philosophy and social sciences. He pointed out that since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the philosophy and social sciences front has earnestly implemented the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee, adhered to the “two combinations,” solidly advanced knowledge innovation, theoretical innovation, and methodological innovation, produced a number of valuable research results, and effectively served the overall work of the Party and the state.
Xi Jinping emphasized that on the new journey, we must take the Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as guidance, adhere to and strengthen the Party’s overall leadership, deepen the systematic and theoretical research and interpretation of the Party’s innovative theories, accelerate the construction of an independent knowledge system for Chinese philosophy and social sciences, better answer the questions of China, the world, the people, and the era, strive to open up a new situation for high-quality development of philosophy and social sciences, and contribute more wisdom and strength to Chinese-style modernization.
