Two bears were spotted in the resort city late in the evening on August 7.

According to eyewitnesses, police in a patrol car with sirens and loudspeakers drove along Makarenko Street, warning people of the danger. Residents were advised to stay indoors to avoid encountering the predators.

The photo from the scene shows bears hiding in the bushes. Social media users also reported seeing the bears near Olympic Street that evening. It is believed they were adolescent bears, meaning their mother could have been nearby.

Also of interest: a camera trap captured curious bears in a nature reserve near Tuapse. The footage shows several brown bears patrolling their territory.
