China’s E-commerce Achieved Steady Growth from January to April

Specifically, the growth of digital consumption has accelerated. According to monitoring by the Ministry of Commerce’s big data, online sales of digital products increased by 8.4%, especially for smart robots and smart home systems, which grew by 87.6% and 16% respectively; products replaced under the trade-in scheme grew rapidly, with online sales of 15 categories of home appliances and digital products increasing by 11.5%.

The growth of service consumption is significant, with online service consumption monitored by the Ministry of Commerce increasing by 12.1%, including more than 20% growth in online entertainment and online travel.

Industrial e-commerce has helped foreign trade companies expand their domestic sales and achieve new results. Since April, more than ten platforms have attracted over 3100 foreign trade companies to join, with sales in the foreign trade zone exceeding 1.1 billion yuan, and direct purchases of about 10 billion yuan.
