From catching criminals to improving law and order, the new BJP government in Bengal is taking continuous action. In this sequence, a stir was created in Bengal when bags filled with a huge amount of cash were found buried near an office of the TMC. Acting on a tip-off, police conducted excavation near the TMC office, from where this cash was recovered. Police say counting of the cash is ongoing, and it could be worth crores.
Actually, this action was taken after the arrest of senior TMC leader and Chairman of Baduria Municipality, Dipankar Bhattacharya, in connection with alleged irregularities related to government relief materials and illegal properties. Following a search, police recovered this cash. A video has surfaced on social media, showing police officers carrying bundles of 500 rupee notes in a sack.

According to media reports, investigators had information that cash was hidden underground near the party office. After this, police began digging the premises. Locals said that during the excavation, police recovered four bags filled with bundles of 500 rupee notes. Officials said the exact amount is being counted. It is estimated that the cash could be worth crores of rupees.
Police Engaged in Investigation
It is reported that police are now trying to find out who this money belongs to and why it was hidden underground. A phase of accusations and counter-accusations has begun regarding this matter. The opposition has targeted the state government and the TMC, linking this incident to corruption.
However, police have seized the cash and started an investigation. Officials say every aspect of the case is being examined, and if necessary, relevant individuals will be questioned.
