On May 13, a meeting of the Standing Committee of the District Committee was held to convey and study the spirit of an important speech on strengthening basic research, as well as the spirit of provincial and municipal committee meetings, and to study implementation opinions. The meeting was chaired by the district committee secretary.

The meeting pointed out that the important speech deeply summarized the achievements of basic research, accurately assessed new situations and challenges, made strategic deployments and put forward clear requirements for strengthening basic research, providing fundamental guidance for scientific and technological innovation and cultivating new quality productive forces. The entire district must deeply study and understand, align with the standards, effectively enhance the sense of responsibility and mission, based on the actual situation of the district, and carefully implement various tasks of basic research and scientific and technological innovation, contributing to the construction of a strong science and technology country.

The meeting emphasized that it is necessary to deepen ideological understanding, accelerate the filling of the original innovation gap from “0 to 1”, transform achievements from “1 to 10” and “10 to 100” into the strengths and advantages of the district, promote the deep integration of scientific and technological innovation and industrial innovation, and vigorously cultivate the “second growth curve” of the district; it is necessary to strengthen systematic measures, target the introduction of top innovation teams and young scientific research talents, build a high-standard artificial intelligence research and development center, layout high-quality industrial spaces such as Yulong, actively open up high-quality application scenarios, and accelerate the construction of a district-specific scientific and technological innovation system with enterprises as the main body; it is necessary to strengthen the “one-game” thinking, strengthen coordinated operations, tighten and compact responsibilities, and ensure the effectiveness of various measures with solid work style, accelerating the creation of a “new district for science and innovation and happy living”.
