Eiffel Tower

The Eiffel Tower, located in Paris, France, was built in 1889 as the centerpiece of the World’s Fair, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the French Revolution. Initially criticized by artists and intellectuals, it was intended to be a temporary structure but became a permanent icon of French engineering and culture. Today, it is one of the world’s most visited monuments, standing at 330 meters tall and symbolizing Paris globally.

Palace of Versailles

The Palace of Versailles, located near Paris, was originally a hunting lodge built by King Louis XIII in 1623. His son, Louis XIV, transformed it into a lavish royal residence and the center of political power in France from 1682 until the French Revolution in 1789. Today, it is a UNESCO World Heritage site and a symbol of the absolute monarchy of the Ancien Régime, famous for its opulent architecture, Hall of Mirrors, and extensive gardens.

Louvre Museum

The Louvre Museum in Paris, originally built as a fortress in the late 12th century under King Philippe Auguste, later became a royal palace before opening as a public museum in 1793 during the French Revolution. It is now one of the world’s largest and most visited museums, housing iconic works such as the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo, and spanning art from ancient civilizations to the 19th century.
