The Deputy Minister of Education for General Education and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity “Mawhiba”, along with a number of leaders from the Ministry of Education and “Mawhiba”, received the students of the Saudi Science and Engineering team upon their return to the homeland at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, after their distinguished participation in the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair “ISEF 2026” held in the United States of America.
The Deputy Minister of Education affirmed that this achievement extends the great support provided by the wise leadership to the education, talent, and innovation sectors, and their continuous care to empower students and invest in their abilities, and to create a stimulating environment that contributes to developing their skills and enhances the Kingdom’s presence and leadership in international scientific forums, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
The Deputy Minister congratulated the winning students, their families, and teachers for this excellence, praising the qualitative scientific projects they presented, competing with an elite of innovators from various countries around the world, emphasizing that what has been achieved reflects the capabilities and talents of the nation’s sons and daughters, contributing to building a prosperous future based on science, technology, and innovation.
A New National Achievement
The members of the Saudi team, which includes 40 male and female students, received a grand reception after winning 24 global awards at the “ISEF 2026” exhibition, including 12 major awards and 12 special awards.
In addition to securing first place globally in the field of computational biology and bioinformatics, this is a new national achievement that reflects the excellence of the Kingdom’s sons and daughters in the largest global forum for research and innovation projects for general education students, and strengthens the Kingdom’s position in the fields of science and innovation internationally.
