A day that should have been the happiest moment for H (24) turned into a humiliating end. Just after undergoing the marriage contract ceremony, the man from Garut Regency was instead escorted by police from his wedding reception location.

H was arrested for allegedly being involved in a motorcycle theft case in the Ibun District area, Bandung Regency. The Ibun Police Chief stated that the arrest was carried out on Saturday (16/5/2026) afternoon in coordination with the Garut Resort Police.

“Yes, that’s correct. Last Saturday, May 16, 2026, we secured a motorcycle theft suspect with the initial H in cooperation with the Garut Resort Police,” he said on Monday (18/5/2026).

The case began when the victim parked his motorcycle in the garage of his house in Kampung Babakan Panyingkuran, Dukuh Village, Ibun District, Bandung Regency, on Wednesday (13/5/2026). However, the next day around 3:30 AM, the victim found his motorcycle missing.

“When the victim was about to resume his activities on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 3:30 AM, he saw that the motorcycle was no longer in its place, or it was stolen,” the police chief said.

The victim’s report was immediately followed up by the police. Officers conducted a crime scene investigation and examined several witnesses, including footage from surveillance cameras around the location.

“We immediately conducted a crime scene investigation and took statements from witnesses in the field, and there was CCTV footage,” he said.

From the investigation results, police identified the suspect as H, a resident of Samarang District, Garut Regency. “The Ibun Police Criminal Investigation Unit immediately coordinated with the Garut Resort Police Criminal Investigation Unit to find the whereabouts of suspect H,” he stated.

During the search process, police received information that H was holding his wedding at the PGRI Building, on Jalan Raya Pasundan, Kota Kulon Village, Garut Regency.

Officers then moved to the location and waited until the marriage contract ceremony was completed before making the arrest.

“The arrest process was carried out at 12:30 PM after the suspect had performed the marriage contract. So the suspect was secured while at his wedding reception ceremony,” he revealed.

Police mentioned that H was asked to change clothes first before being taken by officers. The arrest took place without resistance.

“We also secured a Beat-type motorcycle along with its vehicle documents. Then one CCTV video recording of the suspect carrying out his action,” he explained.

In this case, H is said not to have acted alone. Police are still hunting for another suspect with the initial I alias Awang, who is now on the wanted list.

“In the CCTV footage, suspect H acted together with I alias Awang. Suspect I alias Awang is still being hunted and has been placed on the wanted list,” he concluded.
