Al-Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo sparked widespread controversy on social media after he was absent from the team’s ceremony to receive the silver medals for the AFC Champions League 2 tournament, following the team’s loss in the final match to Japan’s Gamba Osaka by a single goal. Ronaldo appeared in a state of extreme frustration, especially after Al-Nassr failed to capitalize on the numerous opportunities that came their way throughout the match, losing the dream of continental glory once again.

This loss denied Ronaldo the chance to achieve his dream of winning his first Asian title in his illustrious career, despite his previous multiple UEFA Champions League titles with Real Madrid and Manchester United.

Despite this setback, Ronaldo still has a golden opportunity to win the Saudi League title, when his team hosts Damac Club in the final round of the competition next Thursday. Al-Nassr must secure a victory to guarantee the official championship title.
