Meanwhile, a sudden storm a day ago caused massive destruction. Whether large hoardings or centuries-old trees, everything was swept away like straw. Due to this, more than 100 lives were lost in Uttar Pradesh alone. Condolences were also expressed for those who lost their lives in the storm. A major change in the weather is expected tomorrow. While some states will experience heatwave conditions, others are likely to see rain accompanied by strong winds.
Heat intensifies in northern India
The impact of the heatwave is continuously intensifying in many parts of the country. Temperatures have reached nearly 44 degrees Celsius in several areas of northern and central India, including Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi-NCR. The weather department has warned that severe heat and heatwave conditions may persist for the next few days. Particularly in western Rajasthan, the situation is expected to become more severe.

Heatwave alert in several states
According to the weather department, hot winds may blow in Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, western Uttar Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh for the next 3 to 4 days. The department says that night temperatures will also remain above normal along with daytime temperatures, so people will not get relief from the heat even at night. A red alert has been issued in some areas of Rajasthan.

Light rain and strong winds may also occur in Delhi, Bihar, Punjab, and Haryana, which could lead to a slight drop in temperature.
What is the update on the monsoon
The weather department has stated that conditions are becoming favorable for the advancement of the southwest monsoon. Monsoon activity may intensify over the Andaman Sea and the southern Bay of Bengal. This is likely to increase rainfall in parts of southern India in the coming days. This will bring significant relief to people.

On May 15, the heatwave effect may continue in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Vidarbha. Light rain with strong winds is likely in Delhi-NCR, Punjab, Haryana, and western Uttar Pradesh. Rain with thunderstorms is expected in Bihar and the northeastern states. Meanwhile, warnings of rain and lightning have been issued in many places in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. In Delhi-NCR, the temperature is expected to remain around 40 degrees tomorrow.
