On April 24, in Shanghai, the first container truck loaded with goods slowly drove out of the Baihe Township cross-border e-commerce sea freight export pre-collection warehouse in Qingpu District, Shanghai. This marks the official opening of a new “land-sea-air” multimodal transport route for cross-border e-commerce goods in the Yangtze River Delta region, following the path of “Baihe collection—direct land transport to Dongguan—sea freight to Hong Kong Airport.”
The Baihe pre-collection warehouse is the core project of Shanghai’s first “cross-border e-commerce plus industrial belt” pilot zone. Since its operation in September 2025, it has completed 1,332 containers of cross-border e-commerce sea freight exports, totaling 707,000 items, with a value exceeding $100 million. This has initially explored an effective path of “collection hub and consolidation for export.”
In March of this year, the Baihe Township delegation visited Dongguan to learn from the experience of the Hong Kong Airport air cargo center, completing link testing and enterprise coordination within just one month.
The first “Shanghai-Hong Kong direct express” from the Baihe pre-collection warehouse departed on that day. It achieved the consolidation of bulk goods from the Yangtze River Delta region at Baihe, followed by direct truck transport to the Dongguan air cargo center. There, customs declaration, security inspection, and palletization were completed in one go, before direct delivery to Hong Kong Airport for loading, enabling “one-time declaration, one-time inspection, and no unpacking throughout the entire process.”
