A new chapter is written in the record of the Egyptian national team. After years of absence from top rankings, the Pharaohs have broken into the top 35 globally for the first time since 2018.

The golden leap was achieved by the Egyptian national team as they climbed from 35th to 32nd place in the latest FIFA ranking, recording an exceptional increase of 21.46 points to reach 1536.64 points, up from 1515.18 points.

This remarkable progress did not come out of nowhere but is the direct result of decisive victories in the African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, where the Pharaohs crushed Djibouti 3-0 and defeated Guinea-Bissau by a single goal.

Official qualification for the 2026 World Cup has become a tangible reality after these positive results, placing Egypt on the map of the tournament to be hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico for the fourth time in its history.

On the continental level, Egypt maintains its third place in Africa behind leaders Morocco and second-placed Senegal, an indicator of stability and strength amid fierce competition.

Football experts affirm that continuing this upward trend could give the Pharaohs golden opportunities to break into the top 20 globally in future rankings, especially with the global draw approaching.

This historic leap comes at a perfect time, boosting confidence and bringing the dream closer to achieving an exceptional achievement in the next World Cup, restoring the lost luster of Egyptian football on the international stage.
