On Thursday, the CDO suddenly inspected the primary school in Police Lines. Not a single teacher was found there. The books that were supposed to be distributed to students were found lying as junk in a room. The school premises were in a state of filth.
Chief Development Officer Nupur Goel stated that the Education Director Pratap Singh Baghel had issued an order that, due to the extreme heat, the timing of primary schools would be from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM, during which teachers would stay in schools and teach students. Additionally, they would complete academic and administrative tasks until 1:30 PM, and only then go home. For this reason, CDO Nupur Goel conducted the surprise inspection at 1:15 PM. During the inspection, not a single teacher, instructor, or teaching assistant was found in the school. The school rooms were left open.
Books were lying on the floor in a classroom. These were the books that were supposed to be distributed to students. In one room, mattresses were found, which were completely dirty and infested with fungus. Classroom number three had been turned into a junk room, where furniture, wooden items, and other materials were lying around. The kitchen, where food is cooked for the children, was found to be extremely dirty.
Furthermore, the condition of the toilets was poor. The CDO said that looking at the school, it seemed it was not being run regularly. The CDO stated that a notice has been issued to the Basic Education Officer in this regard. Further action will be taken after receiving a response to the notice.
