Supply in Jakarta experienced disruptions and blackouts in several areas. PT PLN confirmed that the electricity system in Jakarta has now fully recovered.
“PT PLN (Persero) has successfully restored 100 percent of the electricity system that experienced disruptions in parts of Jakarta at 10:25 AM Western Indonesian Time,” said the Senior Manager of Communications and General Affairs of PLN UID Greater Jakarta, Haris Andika, to reporters on Thursday (April 23, 2026).
Haris stated that electricity supply in Jakarta began to gradually recover at 12:23 PM Western Indonesian Time. Meanwhile, the overall electricity system in Jakarta had fully recovered by 3:05 PM Western Indonesian Time.
“Most affected customers have resumed enjoying electricity supply by 12:23 PM Western Indonesian Time, while the remaining approximately 5 percent were successfully restored by 3:05 PM Western Indonesian Time,” he said.
He added that the disruption that occurred to the electricity supply in Jakarta was due to issues at 13 substations.
“As an illustration, the electricity system for Jakarta and its surrounding areas is supported by 76 substations. Of that number, 13 substations were affected by the power supply disruption,” said Haris.
“PLN continues to strive to strengthen the reliability of the electricity system and extends its apologies for the inconvenience caused,” he continued.
