In principle, the government urges people to evacuate on foot during a tsunami to prevent the spread of damage caused by traffic congestion. However, as an exception, people with mobility issues, such as elderly individuals who have difficulty walking, or those living in areas that cannot be reached on foot before the arrival time, are allowed to evacuate by car.

Please follow the instructions of each local government.

In areas where a post-earthquake information has been issued, be prepared to evacuate immediately in case a tsunami warning or similar alert is announced.

Keep emergency supplies, valuables, and cold-weather gear within reach.

Ensure you can obtain emergency information, and recheck evacuation sites, evacuation routes, and whether furniture is secured.

Secure your own safety to avoid being caught in a collapse, and when entering areas with a high risk of landslides, always be ready to escape.
