Early this morning, a man was assaulted by five to six men in their teens to twenties on a sidewalk in Higashi Ward, Sapporo, and had cash stolen from him in a robbery incident.
The men are still at large.
The robbery occurred on the sidewalk at Kita 43 Jo Higashi 16 Chome, Higashi Ward, Sapporo.
Around 1:15 a.m., five to six men in their teens to twenties assaulted a 31-year-old man they did not know by punching and kicking him, threatening him with statements like, “Which is better: being killed or paying up?” and stole 1,000 yen in cash before fleeing.
The man was not injured.
According to police, one of the men had blond hair and was wearing a white jacket.
Police are tracking the fleeing men as part of a robbery investigation.
