N.B. Desai Public High School in Mangrol-Vankal celebrated ‘Save the Daughter, Educate the Daughter’ Day as part of the ‘Nari Vandana Utsav-2025′ initiative by the Women and Child Development Office. Over 180 female students participated in the awareness program, where they were informed about the importance of higher education, menstrual hygiene and safety, as well as laws and government schemes related to girls’ protection.
The Dowry Prohibition and Protection Officer urged the girls to stay aware of educational opportunities and advised them to learn from inspiring women to progress in life. The Medical Officer provided detailed information on the PC and PNDT Act, adolescent hygiene, risks associated with early motherhood, and preventive measures.
Students were also informed about the benefits of schemes such as the Child Protection Unit, OSC Center, PBCSC Center, Narigriha, the 181 Women Helpline, and the POCSO Act. Approval orders were distributed to beneficiaries of the ‘Whali Beti’ scheme during the event.
The program was attended by school officials, teachers, and a large number of students.
