New Delhi, 22 April 2026. In the Kailash Hills area of Delhi, on Wednesday morning, the 22-year-old daughter of a senior IRS officer was raped and murdered in her home. According to the police, the incident occurred around 6 a.m. when the young woman was home alone.
The IRS officer and his wife had gone to the gym as usual. When they returned, they found their daughter’s body in her room. She was preparing for the UPSC exams. Preliminary investigation revealed that she was first raped. Then she was strangled to death with a mobile phone charging cable.
According to the police, the main suspect in the case is 19-year-old Rahul Meena. He had worked as a servant in the IRS officer’s home for about eight months. He was dismissed about a month ago on charges of irregularities in daily expenses.
According to initial information, the victim had gone missing under suspicious circumstances, after which a search was launched. Later, the recovery of her body caused a sensation. The police have taken the matter seriously and have started an investigation, questioning several suspects.
A Delhi Police team has collected important evidence from the crime scene, and a forensic examination is also being conducted. Nearby CCTV footage is being reviewed to piece together the full sequence of events and reach the accused.
Officials say this is a heinous crime and the guilty will not be spared at any cost. A special team has been formed for a speedy investigation into the case.
