A man with initials IS (40), alias Bohim, killed his own friend, M (40) or Marlin, in a tragic incident that occurred at a boarding house on Jalan Sandang, Sukamulya Village, Cinambo District, Bandung City. The event took place on Friday (April 17) around 12:30 AM local time.
After committing the act, Bohim, a resident of Ujungberung, initially fled. However, he was eventually arrested by police at his hideout in Cirebon Regency.
The motive for the murder is believed to be driven by hurt feelings and jealousy. The perpetrator was reportedly upset when he found the victim alone in a boarding room with his ex-wife, identified by the initial L.
“So, based on our investigation, the motive is suspected to be hurt feelings and jealousy when the perpetrator saw his ex-wife in the room with the victim,” said the official on Tuesday (April 22, 2026).
During the incident, the victim reportedly resisted by hitting the perpetrator. This situation then triggered a violent act that ended fatally.
“According to the perpetrator’s statement, the victim hit him, and then the perpetrator took a knife that was in the room,” the official stated.
“The knife was then stabbed into the victim, and approximately seven stab wounds were found all over his body. After stabbing him, the perpetrator fled and also took his ex-wife with him,” he added.
After receiving the report, the police immediately pursued and eventually arrested the perpetrator in the Cirebon area. During the arrest, officers also secured several pieces of evidence, including the knife used to stab the victim, the perpetrator’s clothes, and the motorcycle used during the escape.
“We have applied three articles against the perpetrator: Article 466 paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code concerning assault resulting in death, Article 468 paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code concerning aggravated assault resulting in the victim’s death, and finally, Article 458 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code concerning murder, with a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison,” the official emphasized.
Currently, the perpetrator is in custody and is undergoing further investigation by the police.
“The perpetrator is currently detained for further investigation,” the official concluded.
