The leadership dispute within the Chamber of Commerce is heating up. The General Chairman from the Bandung Regional Deliberation version, Nizar Sungkar, has officially filed a lawsuit to cancel the Decree confirming Almer Faiq Rusidy at the Bandung District Court, while also demanding compensation of up to Rp20 billion.
The lawsuit is currently ongoing and has entered the second mediation phase at the Bandung District Court. In this process, Nizar is not only requesting the annulment of the decree issued by Anindya Bakrie but also claiming material and immaterial damages, with a staggering amount of Rp20 billion for non-material losses.
The mediation is guided by mediator judge Sutarjo SH, MH. However, the process is not entirely smooth. The plaintiff’s side highlighted the absence of the main defendant, Anindya Bakrie, in the mediation meeting, which is considered crucial for finding a peaceful resolution.
Through their legal counsel, Jhon Sitepu and Tri Laksono, Nizar presented four settlement options offered to the defendant’s side. The first option is to request that he be officially inaugurated as the Chairman of the West Java Chamber of Commerce.
If that option is not accepted, Nizar offers a compromise solution in the form of dividing the management term into 2.5 years each. This scheme is seen as a middle ground to quell the internal organizational conflict.
The third option proposed is to hold a new Provincial Deliberation to determine a legitimate leadership recognized by all parties. Meanwhile, the last option is to await the legal verdict from other ongoing cases at the South Jakarta District Court and Bandung District Court.
In the closed mediation session, Nizar’s legal team also raised a protest against the mediator’s perceived lack of neutrality. Jhon Sitepu even openly expressed his objection to the alleged bias in the mediation process.
According to Jhon, the mediator should act as an objective intermediary, not offer opinions that could potentially favor one side. He emphasized that the mediator’s neutrality is key in resolving disputes like this.
Jhon also assessed that the option of a new Provincial Deliberation is the most ideal solution. In this way, all parties—the plaintiff, the defendant, and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce—would not lose face before the public and organizational members.
In response to the protest, the mediator judge then changed the mediation pattern by summoning the parties alternately. Starting with Anindya Bakrie’s legal counsel, followed by Nizar’s legal counsel, then a representative of Almer Faiq Rusidy, and other parties.
After the separate summoning sessions, all parties were gathered again in a brief closed meeting, lasting about 10 minutes. In this session, the mediator concluded that all proposals would be forwarded to each principal.
Nizar’s legal counsel, Tri Laksono, mentioned that the follow-up mediation is scheduled for next week. All parties are required to attend without exception to determine whether a peace agreement can be reached or not.
If an agreement is reached, the conflict can be resolved without proceeding to trial. However, if not, this case is certain to enter full litigation at the Bandung District Court.
In this lawsuit, the defendants are divided into three groups. The first group includes the ranks of the Central Chamber of Commerce, including Anindya Bakrie and several other officials.
The second group consists of the committee of the West Java Chamber of Commerce Provincial Deliberation, while the third group is Almer Faiq Rusidy as the party confirmed through the Bogor version of the Deliberation.
This dispute began with the dualism of the Provincial Deliberation held on September 24, 2025. The Deliberation in Bogor resulted in Almer Faiq Rusidy, while the Deliberation in Bandung appointed Nizar Sungkar as chairman.
Nizar’s side claims that the Bandung Deliberation, held at the Grand Preanger Hotel, has a strong legal basis because it was organized by the official caretaker of the West Java Chamber of Commerce in accordance with the mandate of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce.
However, to date, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce has not issued a ratification decree for Nizar. Instead, it inaugurated Almer in Cirebon in November 2025, which then triggered this legal lawsuit.
On this basis, Nizar Sungkar
