Missing male student found on Tam Dao mountain at 600 meters altitude.
Speaking about the situation, Tran Phu Phuong, Party Secretary of Dao Tru Commune (Phu Tho), stated: The commune mobilized maximum forces to search from an altitude of 1,300 meters downward and discovered Nguyen Tuan Anh.
Authorities used a drone to search for the missing person.
Tuan Anh, a student at Dai Nam University, got lost in a bamboo forest (a type of plant that grows abundantly on Tam Dao Mountain) at an altitude of 1,300 meters and could not find a way out. He climbed down to an altitude of 600 meters on his own but became exhausted.
To find Tuan Anh, Dao Tru Commune mobilized many forces to participate. The commune established a field command center, staying and eating on site; forces were organized into 6 teams, each with 10 people.
From the 600-meter altitude point, each team split into two groups to search for the male student. Phu Tho Province dispatched firefighting and search-and-rescue forces for support.
The location where the male student was found is a 5-hour walk from the base of Tam Dao Mountain. Search forces for the missing person worked through the night with very high determination. Due to no phone signal, search teams had to use walkie-talkies to communicate with each other.
Authorities worked through the night to search for the missing person.
Earlier, around 6 p.m. on April 19, student Nguyen Tuan Anh lost contact with his family while climbing a mountain with a group of about 10 people in Vinh Ninh hamlet, Dao Tru Commune.
Tuan Anh had been missing for more than 36 hours before being found.
