Panda-themed bus sets off, turning the city into a “mobile reception room” to explore the multiple charms of Chengdu.
On the afternoon of April 14th, a meticulously decorated panda-themed bus slowly departed from the Century City International Conference Center, marking the official launch of the “Blooming Tianfu” City Audiovisual Bus, a key supporting event of the 13th China Internet Audio and Video Conference—the 2026 Internet Audio and Video (Chengdu) Image Week.
Previously, discussions about audio and video mostly took place in front of screens or within conference halls. But today, following the bus tour around Chengdu, the entire city has been transformed into a “mobile reception hall,” with the bus itself serving as a moving information center, communication platform, and viewing window.
This event innovatively adopted the format of a “mobile audio-visual reception hall.” Following a themed route centered on “Cultural Innovation & Technology + Historical Context,” it delved into multiple core landmarks of Chengdu, offering a panoramic decoding of the city’s new character empowered by the internet audio-visual industry through movement and immersion.
With its route design based on “Cultural Innovation & Technology + Historical Context,” the entire itinerary covered the Tianfu Changdao Digital Cultural Innovation Park, the Jiaozipark Financial Business District, and the People’s Park, allowing participants to experience Chengdu’s “audiovisual charm” along the way.
The first stop, the Tianfu Changdao Digital Cultural Innovation Park, is a specialized park strategically planned and developed by Chengdu High-tech Zone focusing on the digital cultural innovation industry. It is home to leading enterprises such as Tencent’s New Cultural Creativity Headquarters and Cocoa Bean Animation. On-site, participants not only visited the ongoing “Art Healing Painting Exhibition” but also immersed themselves in the gentle melodies of the “City Soundwave Live” performance.
“Chengdu’s atmosphere has always been excellent; it’s a very inclusive city,” said a citizen named Cuier. “This place (Tianfu Changdao) is the birthplace of the ‘Made in Chengdu’ film ‘Ne Zha 2’ and also the home of the KPL team AG Super Play. Chengdu’s digital industry is developing very well and is particularly attractive to young people.”
The second stop, the Jiaozipark Financial Business District, is located in the heart of Chengdu’s Financial City CBD. The historical heritage associated with the world’s earliest paper money, “Jiaozi,” from which it takes its name, interplays with the skyscrapers symbolizing modern wealth, showcasing Chengdu’s urban philosophy of consistently preserving space for nature and life even while developing high-end industries.
The final stop, the People’s Park, was bustling with activity at the century-old Heming Tea House, where the lively atmosphere of everyday life was palpable. Here, participants enjoyed a dinner featuring intangible cultural heritage foods like Zhong Dumplings and Long Wontons, transitioning from a feast for the eyes and ears back to a treat for the taste buds.
This roaming route was meticulously designed, with the three stops progressing layer by layer to form a complete cross-section of Chengdu’s modern development. At the Tianfu Changdao Digital Cultural Innovation Park, the focus was on empowerment through industrial clustering and content creation; at Jiaozipark, empowerment through historical symbols and the modern economy; and at the People’s Park, a warm empowerment of traditional lifestyles in the technological age.
