The Tangerang City Police are holding Operation Maung Safety 2026, which will run for two weeks from February 2, 2026, to February 15, 2026.

The Head of the Traffic Police Unit stated that this activity is not solely focused on law enforcement.

According to him, the operation is more directed towards efforts to prevent accidents and educate road users.

“We want to ensure the people of Tangerang feel safe, while also serving as an initial step in simulating security for the homecoming travel flow,” he said.

He explained that Operation Maung Safety 2026 is also part of the preparations leading up to the implementation of Operation Ketupat 2026.

The theme being promoted is the realization of traffic conditions that are safe, comfortable, and secure, especially ahead of the expected increase in public mobility.

Through this operation, it is hoped that traffic discipline levels can increase and the risk of accidents can be reduced.

During the operation, the Traffic Police Unit will collaborate with a number of related agencies, including the Transportation Office.

One focus of the activities is inspection or ramp checks on public vehicles.

This inspection covers the vehicle’s technical condition, such as the braking system, as well as other supporting safety aspects, including driver health.

In addition to vehicle inspections, officers will also conduct more persuasive approaches in the field.

Education is provided to drivers to foster awareness that traffic safety is a shared need, not merely an obligation to avoid sanctions.

This approach is expected to build sustainable habits of orderly traffic.

Nevertheless, officers will also continue to pay attention to violations deemed to have a high potential to cause accidents.

These violations include underage drivers, illegal street racing, use of non-compliant exhaust systems, driving against traffic flow, and using mobile phones while driving.

Inspections for the use of standard helmets, compliance with speed limits, and the prohibition of driving under the influence of alcohol are also part of the supervision.

The Tangerang City Police urge the public to ensure their vehicle documents are complete and to obey all traffic rules during the operation.
