The mediation took place in the Community Security Hall of the Dairi Police. In his address, the Head of Community Affairs emphasized that restorative justice aims to restore social relationships damaged by the conflict.

“We hope the community of Parbuluan VI Village can return to harmony as before. Let us together maintain the security and order of this village,” he said.

A poignant atmosphere filled the mediation room when a community representative openly apologized for the anarchic actions that occurred, both in the PT Gruti concession area and within the village environment.

“We realize there were mistakes in words and actions that went too far. On behalf of the residents, we apologize,” the representative said.

Similar regret was expressed by residents regarding the incident of vandalism and the stoning of the house of the Parbuluan VI Village Head.

In response, the PT Gruti side stated they accepted the apology and chose to prioritize peace. Meanwhile, the Village Head of Parbuluan VI, while acknowledging having experienced severe pressure during the conflict, chose to open the door to forgiveness for the sake of common peace.

“Everything is in the past. Let us improve communication and build a better relationship going forward,” the Village Head said.

A youth figure reminded all parties to maintain the peace commitment that had been agreed upon. According to him, the process leading to this agreement was not easy and required sincerity from all sides.

The mediation concluded with a handshake between representatives of the residents and the company as a symbol of the end of the conflict. With the completion of this restorative justice process, the legal case is declared settled, and it is hoped that the situation in Parbuluan District will return to being conducive.
