Security and traffic authorities in Qena have intensified their campaigns on the Western Desert Road as part of a comprehensive plan aimed at achieving traffic discipline and reducing accidents.
Traffic Campaigns on Qena’s Desert Road
The campaigns included establishing fixed traffic checkpoints at a number of vital points along the road, in addition to carrying out mobile traffic campaigns to monitor traffic flow and record violations. Radar devices were also used to monitor speeding and take legal action against offenders.
Traffic services were also reinforced along the road to secure traffic flow and deal immediately with any obstacles or breakdowns, which contributes to facilitating the movement of citizens and ensuring the highest rates of safety for road users.
In this context, the Qena governorate urges citizens and drivers to adhere to the designated traffic lane, avoid driving in the opposite direction, and comply with the specified speed limits, in order to preserve the safety of lives and property and to support the state’s efforts in achieving traffic discipline on highways.
