Multimedia – Da Nang International Fireworks Festival: 17 Years of Writing Its Name Across the Asian Sky
The festival is an affirmation of the strong desire to rise and the determination for reform by the Party, government, and people of the city, aiming for a prosperous future and marking Da Nang on the global tourism map,” Mrs. Thi affirmed.
Alongside the main stage of 1,600m2, integrating a series of advanced performance technologies such as modern mechanical systems with 5 large elevating arches, Da Nang hopes to bring a “multifaceted playground” connecting art, culture, tourism, and community.
These activities will contribute to extending the length of stay, promoting spending, services, and local economic growth.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Quynh, Chairman of the Danang Hotel Association, assessed that the DIFF event contributes to positioning Da Nang as a center for major tourist events in the country and Southeast Asia, with a consistent growth rate of 25 – 30% over several years.
Currently, the city has about 4,646 tour guides, 376 travel agencies, 943 accommodation facilities with over 40,000 rooms, essentially meeting the needs of serving tourists domestically and internationally. The tourism infrastructure system is increasingly being invested comprehensively, modernly, from the international airport, sea port terminals, to shopping centers, entertainment areas, and high-end accommodation facilities.
Thanks to continuous innovation, the international fireworks festival has truly become a ‘summer event ecosystem’ of Da Nang, where everyone can find memorable experiences, from art, culture, cuisine to modern technology and community emotions.
Da Nang’s Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has proposed the city to develop an international fireworks display project in a professional direction.
This will be one of the three breakthrough steps to promote Da Nang’s tourism industry in 2025 and the following years. It is expected that the international visitor volume to Da Nang during the 2025 fireworks festival will increase by 20-25% compared to 2024, reaching approximately 5 million international visitors, and domestic visitors will increase by 10%, with about 8 million people.
DIFF 2025 is the first fireworks festival to apply augmented reality (AR) technology. Just with a phone installed with the Sun Paradise Land app, the audience can scan paper tickets to experience a different, highly vivid ‘dimensional space’.
Corresponding to 6 nights are 6 different AR themes, with stories about nature, local culture, and iconic structures like the Dragon Bridge, Son Tra Peninsula, or My Khe Beach.
If DIFF 2008 marked the first fireworks competition held by the Han River, now, the festival has become a cultural and tourism symbol of international stature, marking Da Nang’s 17-year journey of continuous innovation and expansion.
