Storm front from Hoa Binh approaches, thunderstorms expected in Hanoi
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, as of 4:40 PM today, observations from satellite images, lightning position data, and radar weather images show that a storm front is developing in the area of Hoa Binh province.
Currently, this cloud system continues to develop and move forward.
Forecasts indicate that within the next 45 minutes to 3 hours, the southern districts of Nam Tu Liem, Bac Tu Liem, Ha Dong, Thanh Xuan… will experience rain, showers, and thunderstorms.
Following this, the area of thunderstorms and rain may spread to other districts in central Hanoi.
Meteorological agencies forecast that this evening and tonight, in the Northwest region, the Northeast, the Red River Delta, and North Central Vietnam, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some areas experiencing heavy rain with rainfall of 15-30mm, and some places over 80mm.
In the Central Highlands and southern Vietnam, scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected, with some areas receiving 10-30mm of rain, and locally over 70mm.
Warning of the risk of heavy rain with intensity over 60mm within 2 hours, causing flash floods, landslides in mountainous areas, and flooding in low-lying regions.
During thunderstorms, there is a risk of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong wind gusts.

According to the National Hydrometeorological Forecasting Center, between 3 PM and 4 PM today, in Hoa Binh province, there has been rain, with some places seeing moderate to heavy rain like Ngoi Hoa (41mm), Trung Hoa (35mm), etc.
Forecasts indicate that this afternoon and evening, Hoa Binh province will continue to experience rain, with widespread rainfall of 20-40mm, and locally over 70mm.
There is a risk of flash floods in small rivers and streams, as well as landslides on steep slopes in this province, particularly in the districts of Cao Phong, Da Bac, Kim Boi, Lac Son, Lac Thuy, Luong Son, Tan Lac, Hoa Binh City, and Yen Thuy.
