Recently, a user posted on a social media platform that she received a thank-you letter from a 14-year-old girl in Liangshan. The letter expressed gratitude for the donated clothes. Although she had donated clothes many times before, this was the first time she received a handwritten letter from a recipient, which deeply moved her and made her feel “an overwhelming warmth and return of love.”

The poster, a mother from Changchun, Jilin, with a 10-year-old son, had the idea to donate clothes because she and her child had many items they didn’t want to simply discard. Through an online platform, she connected with volunteers from a charitable organization who helped donate the clothes to people in need in impoverished areas. She gradually shipped about 200 kilograms of clothing. “At first, I was worried the clothes might not reach their destination, but after sending them, the recipients would send videos or photos as feedback, confirming the clothes were indeed given to those in need.”

On October 13, she packed and shipped over 20 kilograms of her own clothes. On October 18, the 14-year-old girl, A Wu, who received the clothes, sent a video through a volunteer. In the video, the girl wore the donated clothes and said with a smile, “Thank you, Auntie.” The donor mentioned, “The girl was very polite and showed great gratitude. It moved me to tears.” To her surprise, the girl also wrote a thank-you letter, which said, “I have received the clothes. They are very beautiful, and I really like them,” and “Your spirit of helping others has been a great support to me. I feel fortunate to be a recipient, and when I grow up, I want to be a kind and helpful person too.”
Through the volunteer, she learned that the girl had dropped out of school due to family difficulties, and the charitable organization was working to help her return to school. The donor expressed that she felt the girl was very grateful and determined. “I hope that one day this girl will wear the clothes I sent and walk into a university,” she said. Besides herself, her mother also donates extra clothes, adding, “Helping others is truly wonderful.”
In the comments section of her post, many users expressed interest in donating clothes but were concerned about potential scams. On October 19, she posted again, clarifying that she is just an
