On October 16 local time, the handover ceremony for the Ngorongoro-Lengai Geopark Museum project, constructed with Chinese assistance, was held in Arusha Province, Tanzania. Over a thousand people attended the ceremony, including government officials from both China and Tanzania, as well as local tribal residents. Ngorongoro-Lengai Geopark Museum

The Ngorongoro-Lengai Geopark Museum serves as a visitor center for the Ngorongoro-Lengai UNESCO Global Geopark in Tanzania. It showcases the region’s unique geological history, including the formation of the Ngorongoro Crater and the active carbonatite volcano, Ol Doinyo Lengai. The museum provides educational context on the area’s volcanic landscapes, fossils, and the coexistence of humans and wildlife over millions of years.

Arusha Province

Arusha Province is a northern region of Tanzania, most famous as the gateway to some of Africa’s most iconic national parks, including Serengeti National Park and Mount Kilimanjaro. Historically, the city of Arusha was a major center for colonial administration and later became the site of the 1967 Arusha Declaration, a key political statement on African socialism. Today, it is a major international hub for diplomacy and tourism, hosting the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights.

Tanzania

Tanzania is an East African nation renowned for its vast wilderness areas and rich cultural history. It is home to iconic natural sites like the Serengeti National Park, Mount Kilimanjaro, and the Ngorongoro Crater, which have been inhabited for millennia by indigenous groups, including the Maasai. The region was a hub for trade and later a German and then British colony before gaining independence in 1961.

China Railway 25th Bureau Group

The China Railway 25th Bureau Group is a major construction and engineering subsidiary of the state-owned China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC). Historically, its origins can be traced back to units of the Railway Corps of the People’s Liberation Army, which were formed to build critical railway infrastructure. Today, it is a key enterprise involved in the construction of railways, highways, and other large-scale public works projects across China and internationally.
