Syria’s interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa will arrive in Moscow on October 15 for an official visit, according to sources.

Ahmed al-Sharaa came to power in Syria in December 2024. Former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad sought political asylum in Russia. In February 2025, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ahmed al-Sharaa held a telephone conversation.
