The legal representatives of Nany Wijaya and Dahlan Iskan claim they have not yet received an official suspect designation letter from the East Java Regional Police regarding the alleged embezzlement and document forgery case.

SURABAYA — The handling of the case involving the former director of Jawa Pos continues to draw attention. As of Wednesday (July 9, 2025), their legal representative stated they had not yet received an official suspect designation letter from the East Java Regional Police.

“If our client had indeed been named a suspect, the investigators should have provided an official notification. However, we have not received the suspect designation letter (Tap TSK) so far,” said the representative when contacted.

The case emerged after Nany Wijaya was reported by Jawa Pos’ internal management over alleged position misappropriation. However, the legal team emphasized that, so far, the report only mentioned Nany Wijaya and several other parties, without naming the former Minister of State-Owned Enterprises.

“In the documents we received, Mr. Dahlan’s name was not mentioned. Only Mrs. Nany and others were listed,” the representative clarified.

The legal team plans to send an official letter to the investigators to seek clarification on their client’s legal status. “We will submit a formal request for an explanation regarding Mrs. Nany’s status in this case,” they stated.

Interestingly, in a document dated July 7, 2025, signed by the Head of Sub-Directorate I of the Criminal Investigation Unit, Dahlan Iskan’s name was also listed as a suspect.

However, Dahlan Iskan’s legal representative denied receiving any official notification regarding this designation. “As of now, we have not received a suspect designation letter in Mr. Dahlan’s name,” they said.

They explained that Dahlan Iskan had previously only been questioned as a witness in a report filed by Rudy Ahmad Syafei Harahap on September 13, 2024. That report focused on the ownership of shares in the tabloid Nyata and only listed Nany Wijaya as the primary reported party.

“Mr. Dahlan has been questioned three times as a witness, even once until midnight. During the case review, it was also clarified that only Mrs. NW was named in the report,” they added.

This latest development raises significant questions about the transparency and legal procedures followed by the investigators. Both Nany Wijaya’s and Dahlan Iskan’s legal teams stated they would pursue formal channels to seek legal clarity.

The case is expected to develop further, given the public profiles of those involved and the potential legal and reputational impact on the related media institution.
