Achievement in Skill Development through Public-Private Partnership

Gandhinagar, Gujarat – AM/NS India today celebrated the academic achievements of its employees and trainees. These students received degrees and diplomas at the first convocation ceremony of Kaushalya – The Skill University, established by the Gujarat government. This inaugural convocation since the university’s establishment was held at the Ora Auditorium, Gujarat National Law University Campus in Gandhinagar.

The convocation ceremony for AM/NS India employees and trainees was celebrated in the presence of several distinguished guests, reflecting strong commitment to collaboration between industry and education sectors.

These students trained through AM/NS India’s Academy for Skill Development represent excellent examples of the company’s successful Work Integrated Learning Programs (WILPs), which help create a skilled workforce for the industry.

Graduating students: A total of 184 AM/NS India employees and trainees from the Academy for Skill Development received their degrees from Kaushalya – The Skill University (KSU):
• Bachelor Degree in Steel Technology – 107 graduates

• Bachelor Degree in Green and Renewable Energy – 36 graduates
• Post Graduate Diploma in Steel Technology – 41 postgraduate students
All three courses are conducted by AM/NS India’s Academy for Skill Development located in Hazira, Gujarat. This initiative represents an excellent example of successful collaboration between industry and education.

It was stated: “The Gujarat government is committed to empowering skill development. Initiatives like Kaushalya University aim to make youth more employable. We congratulate AM/NS India for launching an innovative training initiative that considers industry needs, resulting in 184 skilled employees successfully receiving their degrees today.”

It was further commented: “The partnership with Kaushalya University is extremely important for AM/NS India. This public-private collaboration directly addresses the country’s skill requirements. Industry-focused and forward-looking courses include 50 percent on-the-job training, preparing students for Industry 4.0 and green jobs. With production capacity expansion from 9 MTPA to 15 MTPA in Hazira, we will continue to strengthen our collaboration for employment, innovation, and a brighter future.”

Work Integrated Learning – A Step Towards New Directions
The partnership between AM/NS India’s Academy for Skill Development and Kaushalya University began in 2022, launching Work Integrated Learning Programs (WILPs). Key features of this initiative include:
• First in the country: Introduction of bachelor degrees in Steel Technology and Green & Renewable Energy.
• Comprehensive curriculum structure: Integration of 50% academic study and 50% on-the-job training.
• Duration: Bachelor courses are two years and Post Graduate Diploma is one year.
